# Minting evUSD: Convert Staked USDC to Trading Collateral

> Mint evUSD from staked USDC in 3 steps. Minting takes 2–5 seconds, requires at least 0.2 USDC, and Everstrike covers the gas fee for you.

Minting converts your staked USDC into evUSD — Everstrike's trading collateral. Once you have evUSD, you can open positions in DEX mode across spot, perpetual futures, and perpetual options markets. Minting is fast, taking just 2 to 5 seconds to complete, and Everstrike covers the gas fee so you pay nothing extra for the conversion itself.

## Before You Start

  Make sure you have all of the following in place before minting:

  * A confirmed wallet connected to Everstrike
  * Deposited USDC (on-chain deposit confirmed)
  * Staked USDC (staking transaction confirmed)
  * At least **0.2 USDC** in your wallet to complete the deposit flow
  * Sufficient gas funds in your wallet for the deposit and staking transactions

## How to Mint evUSD

    Navigate to **Portfolio Overview** in the Everstrike app.

    Click **Mint** next to the evUSD row in your portfolio.

  <Step title="Enter the amount and confirm">
    Enter the amount of staked USDC you want to convert, then confirm the transaction. Your evUSD balance updates automatically once minting completes.

## Timing and Fees

Minting typically completes in **2 to 5 seconds**.

Everstrike covers the gas fee for the minting transaction itself. You are responsible for gas fees on the preceding deposit and staking transactions — minting is the only step that Everstrike subsidises.

## Supported Assets

Minting currently supports **staked USDC → evUSD** conversions only.

## Converting evUSD Back to USDC

When you are ready to exit, use the **Redeem** button next to evUSD in **Portfolio Overview**. Redemptions are usually instant but can take up to 24 hours in some cases. See [Redeeming evUSD](/account/redeeming) for full details.
